Australia has a number of space-related undergraduate and graduate programs. The sector also has various other programs and events that aim to create awareness and encourage student engagement with the sector. The Australian Government also supports education in the space sector through the Australian Space Research Program.
The Space Policy Unit (The Unit) would like to ensure that our next generation of engineers, scientists and wider workforce are equipped to secure and advance in jobs of the future. The Unit seeks to improve opportunities within the domestic space sector for graduates and encourage skilled nationals back to Australia. The Unit also wishes to encourage Australian skill development in the space community to ensure Australia has an important place in the international space arena.
The National Space Policy will provide a vision for Australia's use of space-related technologies including providing strategies to enable Australia to meet its National Priorities through space and to ensure Australia meets its future space-related education and innovation needs.
