Child safety statement

As a Division of the Department of Industry, Science and Resources, the Australian Space Agency aligns to the Departments' Child Safe and Vulnerable People Policy.

This policy outlines our staff and volunteer responsibilities to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and vulnerable people.

We are committed to providing a safe environment that:

• protects all children, young people and vulnerable people from harm or risk of harm.

upholds the rights of children, young people and vulnerable people to feel and be safe.

This includes complying with the Commonwealth Child Safe Framework, the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and relevant state or territory legislation.

Our department recognises the First Peoples of this Nation and their ongoing cultural and spiritual connections to the lands, waters, seas, skies, and communities.

We Acknowledge First Nations Peoples as the Traditional Custodians and Lore Keepers of the oldest living culture and pay respects to their Elders past and present. We extend that respect to all First Nations Peoples.
