About IAC 2025

The 76th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) was held in Sydney from 29 September to 3 October 2025 with over 7,000 delegates from 99 countries.  

This prestigious event brought together the world's space community to access the latest advancements and trends, academic works, industry connections and partnership opportunities.  

IAC 2025 was hosted by the Space Industry Association of Australia and co-hosted by the Australian Space Agency and New South Wales Government.  

The theme was ‘Sustainable Space: Resilient Earth’. The Congress also highlighted Australia’s commitment to learning from indigenous knowledge and collaborating with First Nations communities on the deployment and use of space technologies.

Putting space sustainability front and centre

IAC 2025 presented a generational opportunity to showcase the rapid progress of Australia’s space industry and the importance of space-enabled services to the Australian way of life. 

The event's theme ‘Sustainable Space: Resilient Earth’, explored the essential connection between space innovation and sustainability, focusing on three central areas: 

  • Space-based applications for Earth
  • Sustainable space activities
  • Sustaining life beyond Earth

Industry opportunities

IAC 2025 was the one place and time of the year where all global space actors come together.  

The event covered all elements of space and highlighted the latest developments in academia and industry, as well as networking opportunities and potential partnerships. 

IAC 2025 also united the sector with the end-users of space across a range of other industries — from agriculture to resources.

Yes, IAC 2025 welcomed space enthusiasts of all ages, interests, and backgrounds.  

The Congress held a free Public Day for visitors on Friday 3 October 2025. It saw over 19,500 space enthusiasts attended the event of which 11,000 were children.
