A first-of-its-kind celebration of space for the community.
The Australian Space Agency, supported by Inspiring South Australia, the South Australian Space Industry Centre and Lot Fourteen, will deliver Space Day Out.
The special event will blast off at the Australian Space Discovery Centre, located at Lot Fourteen in South Australia.
It will also officially launch Australian Space Week in stellar style, while also celebrating five years of the Australian Space Discovery Centre inspiring the next generation of space explorers.
Space Day Out will also connect the community with Australia’s space industry through its Space Showcase, while inspiring and educating them on benefits of space.

The Space Day Out experience

Get a close up look at Roo-ver, Australia’s lunar rover that’s going to the Moon with NASA in 2030.
Visitors can also learn more about the cutting-edge Aussie innovations that are making an impact in space and on Earth as well as have face-to-face interactions with space professionals from across the sector.

Below is a list of frequently asked questions that we anticipate visitors would like to know about before visiting Space Day Out 2026.
Yes! Australian astronaut and 2026 Australian of the Year Katherine Bennell-Pegg will take to the main stage at 11am followed by a meet and greet session until 1pm.
Entry and all activities at Space Day Out are free.
Registering for the event is not essential but is recommended. It will assist us with planning and managing visitor capacity on the day to make the experience better for everyone.
Space Day Out will take place in and around the Australian Space Discovery Centre, Lot Fourteen, 364-370 North Terrace (East End).
The closest train station is Adelaide Railway Station. It is a 15-minute walk, or you can take the free city loop tram, which runs frequently down North Terrace, and alight at the Botanic Garden stop. Space Day Out can be accessed by a range of bus routes.
Closest parking is at the Wilson Car Cark at Lot Fourteen. Enter via Frome Road and the U-Park next to Ayers House. Enter via North Terrace or Frome Road.
Accessibility
Lot Fourteen, the Australian Space Discovery Centre and all areas of Space Day Out are fully accessible. Accessible toilets are also available at the Australian Space Discovery Centre. Wheelchair users will be able to freely move through all areas.
Food and Beverages
There will not be any food or beverage options for sale at Space Day Out so we recommend bringing your own drinks and snacks. We are also conveniently located close to Rundle Street where there are many varied options available.
