Mission control, we are calling all young artists! Dive into the cosmos and bring your vision of space travel to life in the APRSAF-30 poster competition for ages 6-12.  

Let your out-of-this-world creativity soar as you create a poster that has the potential to be seen by space agencies across the world at this year’s 30th Asia-Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum.  

APRSAF-30 will be held in Perth from 26-29 November and is hosted by the Australian Space Agency and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, with special support from the Western Australian government.

Key details

Anyone within Australia between the ages of 6-12 years with parent/guardian consent  

Space travel! Rockets, space stations, a bus? It’s up to you! Get creative!

Artworks and accompanying documents and information must be submitted and received no later than 11:59am (AEST) on Friday 4 October 2024 (for more details on accompanying documents and information please see below).

If you are sending via email, please ensure your scanned poster file is no smaller than 3MBs. Please also include an email address in your posted entry so we may contact you if necessary.  

Once all artworks have been received by the Australian Space Agency they will be shortlisted down to three.  

If your artwork is one of the lucky three shortlisted you will have your artwork displayed at the Crown Towers in Perth, Western Australia where members of the international space community will be able to see your poster and vote for the winners in a global competition with at least 13 countries participating! Winners will be advised in due course through return email.  

Acceptable artwork:  

  • Handcrafted using traditional art materials, including pencils, crayons, watercolours, and/or oils.
  • On a specific size sheet of paper, no smaller than A3 (297 x 420mm) and no larger than A2 (420 x 594mm).

To keep this global competition neutral, artworks with the following will be excluded from the competition:

  • Computer aided creation.
  • 3D (collage, moulding, sculpting, etc.)
  • Contain any letters or characters, including the artist’s name, signature, national flags, country names, commercial entity names, commercial product names, space agency names, and abbreviations thereof.
  • Suggestions or represent a specific person, organisation, country, brand, logo, or religious themes.

Please have your parent/guardian read the terms and conditions and the Publicity and Photographs Consent and Release form before signing.  

The consent form must be included in the submission to be valid. Please don’t sign your artwork, instead include your name and age in the email OR on your signed consent form if posting in.
