On 27 November 2025, AtSpace, a Brisbane-based rocket manufacturer, launched their locally-made commercial rocket.
The 12.2-metre-tall vehicle rocketed from Southern Launch’s Koonibba Test Range and flew close to the target altitude of 80km.
The four-and-a-half-minute flight validated AtSpace’s hybrid propulsion technology before safely returning to Earth as planned.
The Australian Space Agency granted authorisation for this space activity on 7 November 2025.
