Kanyini is an Australian manufactured CubeSat that will carry an Internet of Things payload with custom software for communication purposes and an electro-optic sensor for Earth observation.
It was launched onboard SpaceX’s Transporter-11 mission from Vandenberg Space Force Base, California on 17 August 2024.
The Kanyini Mission is a major milestone for South Australia’s space sector, successfully achieving critical objectives. This includes establishing space heritage for South Australian partners, increasing the capabilities of local space companies in the small satellite supply chain and creating new investment opportunities for local space SMEs.
The Australian Space Agency granted authorisation for this space activity on 22 April 2024.
