The optical frequency comb was launched on 30 March 2026 aboard French space logistics company Exotrail's spacevan™ orbital transfer vehicle.
It was deployed as part of SpaceX's Transporter-16 rideshare mission from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, USA.
The mission represents the first time an optical frequency comb has been launched and operated in the space environment.
The Australian Space Agency granted authorisation for this space activity on 23 December 2025.
