Bolstering global collaboration in space.
Colorado Springs became a hub for Australia’s growing space momentum this week as the Australian Space Agency met with international partners and showcased the expanding capabilities of Australia’s space industry.
The annual Space Symposium is one of the world’s premier gathering points for civil, defence and commercial space leaders, making it a key platform for international engagement and collaboration.
In partnership with the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), we led an industry delegation of more than 30 Australian companies to highlight the breadth of our national strengths.
The Australia Pavilion at the event showcased the space capabilities and opportunities that Australia can provide. These ranged from advanced manufacturing and satellite technologies to launch and return capability, space domain awareness, and downstream applications that transform space data into tangible, real‑world benefits.
Following the milestone completion of Artemis II, the Symposium was a timely platform to highlight how the Australian space industry is positioned to contribute to the future of lunar missions.
During the week-long event, Head of the Australian Space Agency Enrico Palermo represented Australia across more than 48 engagements, including bilateral meetings to progress programs of work and panel appearances, such as the Space Generation Fusion Forum alongside the leaders of the European, Canadian, and Japanese space agencies.
Mr Palermo was also on a panel with his counterparts from Singapore and the United Kingdom that explored regional collaboration on innovation.
The Australian delegation at the annual Colorado Springs event also included the Chief of Joint Capabilities Lieutenant General Susan Coyle AM CSC DSM as well as representatives from Australia's Embassy in the United States.
